Gravure Idol Amano Ai Plastic Candy DVD

Amano Ai gravure DVD Plastic Candy

I recently received my DVD from the gravure idol Amano Ai (天野 あい).

Amano Ai (天野 あい) Plastic Candy Gravure Idol DVD Tease

Amano Ai is a really sexy and innocent looking Japanese gravure idol. I had never seen a gravure DVD before and I have always wondered what they were like. In each scene, Ai slowly and suggestively strips her adorable clothes down to her lingerie or bikini.  In one scene, she also gets… creative with a shower head. The DVD was very sexy as expected from the Akiba idol. The cosplays, the delectable bikini, the sensual expressions, and the arousing poses… This was certainly a wonderful watch.

Perhaps what takes the experience to another level is how personal it felt.

Amano Ai signed gravure DVD package

It was really very exciting to open the package to discover an idol had signed the DVD and several really pretty photographs addressed to Yi Hsieh (That’s me!). For a brief moment, looking at all those hearts, loves, and the cute pictures, I felt a personal bond to Amano Ai.

Of course, I do realize the superficiality of my excitement. We have never actually talked, not even with Emails. To Ai, I am just another name. And to me, Ai is an idol with a sexy video, who I had not known much about before this. Still, even understanding how shallow the meaningless signature is, I do feel that vague sense of connection. I guess this is a testament to the curious power of fandoms and the influence of celebrities.

This gravure photograph with Amano Ai’s personal message really just made my day.

Anyway, a bit about how I got the DVD. A while back, Danny Choo had a giveaway on his blog. With my brilliant puzzle solving and computer forensic skills, I was able to finally win the prize. (J/K. It was actually all luck…)

Big thanks to Amano Ai for taking the time to send this. Also, thanks to Danny Choo, who hosted this giveaway and was very responsive when the first package got lost.

    I got super excited when I saw the name “Amano Ai.” Sadly it wasn’t the Amano Ai I was expecting… But I’m glad you’re happy! I also like the retro look of the DVD cover.

  2. rockleelotus says:

    omg you were the winRAR?!?! congrats, she is a cutie. im jealous 😛 and i would agree gravure DVD’s can be fun to watch :3

  3. Ningyo says:

    Hohoh, very cute.
    That’s an interesting way to write amano…

    Now now, don’t call out the plot holes, your name’s on it, that IS personal. I’d flaunt it in front of all my friends. Go go go!

    Could Danny really come up with nothing but time guessing though >.>? Not something I’d put on a GUESS WUT.
    Ohwell, grats on winning and finally getting it. I’m not normally for gravure dvds; surprisingly, despite being a masochist I don’t like being visually teased…

  4. Katsura-chan says:

    Congratulation on winning the contest 🙂 Indeed she’s cute and … i feel a bit jealous of her :/ For the clothes and costumes she have of couuuuuuuurse (not her bo.. oh i’m out of here)

    I guess i would never watch something like this (for obvious reason lol) but since you look so moved and happy i feel very happy too ^^

  5. Sellers says:

    She’s actually kinda cute. Also, congrats, you managed to mostly avoid scoring too high on the stalker threat scale in your post. Mostly.

    Glad you’re happy. Seems like a welcome reward.

  6. Misu says:

    Ooh! I’m happy for you. I don’t know what I’d do with a bunch of gravure stuff myself, though.

  7. Yi says:

    @2DT: I assume you were expecting Amano Ai from Video Girl Ai?
    Haha, sorry I didn’t live up to your expectations.

    @rockleelotus: She’s not too bad at all. ^ ^

    @Ningyo: I’ve never watched a gravure video before this either. Anyways, I have no problem skipping over the “plot holes”.
    Anyways, I actually like the old way Danny Choo does giveaways. It requires a bit of skill, whereas now it seems like it’s much more random and dependent on when you visited the site. But giveaways are giveaways, and I’m glad I won one.

    @Katsura-chan: Thanks. I actually do agree a bit about her body. Her figure is beautiful, but not on the level of, for example, Victoria Secret Angels or such. Still, she does give that innocent, cute, real vibe.

    “since you look so moved and happy i feel very happy too ^^”
    I think it’s just my writing style. I tend to be overly dramatic, throwing around words like “loves” all over the place.

    @Sellers: Hehe. I have to confess something here. I was not a fan of hers at all prior to the giveaway, so I do feel a bit guilty for winning this. I’m sure there are hardcore fans (stalkers) who would have enjoyed this a lot more than me.

    @Misu: I actually don’t know what to do with it either… I suppose they’ll be lying around. It’s fun to show people though. For example, my mother thought it was p0rn.

  8. shijima says:

    Congrats on winning the contest.
    I notice you’re quite good at such things.
    (Maybe you can help me think of another one. 😀 )
    Hehe, I suppose this prize is definitely a conversation starter though.

  9. moemoekyun says:

    congrats for the DVD
    @rocklee not getting one too 😀

  10. Yi says:

    @shijima: It’s all just luck. Yea, the DVD has a pretty good story behind how I got it.

    @moemoekyun: Thanks! I just got really lucky. ^ ^

  11. glothelegend says:

    Even though this girl looks like shes 12 (in some pictures she doesn’t look 12…either way she’s cute), that’s still pretty awesome to get SIGNED stuff from her. I would be so excited that I would…..well, it’s probably best not to get into what I would do.

    There are these twins I know who look a lot like her. They’re really hot. Imagine, for a minute, 2 Ai Amanos. Damn.

  12. Kairu says:

    Gah! i want something like this too, ive actually never seen a Gravure Idol’s DVD before, would be very interested.
    I love the fact she signed it for you >.< I am jealous! I want an idol to do that for me as well!

  13. koyote says:

    congrats on winning such a personal prize (I like how every open space is sign and graffitied with <3).
    Not really sure what to do with it though other than flaunt with. Now who is this Danny and is there anime DVD contests..

  14. Canne says:

    When I took a quick look at the photos, I was a little taken aback. They’re photos of sexy girl with your name written on it! I mean…it’s just your name, not ‘to Yi…’ but just ‘Yi…’
    I thought it was you on the photo -_-;
    Anyway, glad you like it 🙂

  15. Yi says:

    @Kairu: Yea I was really lucky to have gotten this.

    @koyote: Thanks. I really don’t know what to do with it except flaunt it. It was fun to watch once though just to see what it’s like.
    Danny Choo is a rather famous anime blogger who occasionally hosts free giveaways of various stuff.

    @Canne: Haha, I wish I look like that.

  16. phossil says:

    I bet you are going to play the DVD thousand of times.. Lol ^^

  17. Yi says:

    @phossil: Haha. Not really. It’s really not that interesting after the first watch.

  18. lylibellule says:

    Congratulations for winning this contest!

    Amano Ai is really a beautiful girl, sexy and very photogenic!
    Also is nice you have all those autographs! I understand you were all turned on after seeing so many beautiful things! 😛

  19. Yi says:

    @lylibellule: Thanks. She’s very photogenic indeed. ^ ^

  21. Congratz again! Now I’m curious. I remember you had to do a rock, paper, scissor through email… What did you choose? XD

  22. Yi says:

    @lightningsabre: Thanks!
    These were my rolls:
    I think I got pretty lucky.

  25. MyHatsOffToYou says:

    BAHAHAHA, this post just made my night. I never knew you had a nack for such a thing and I couldn’t stop laughing. It’s hard for me to explain what’s so funny, but somehow it just is I guess…….

    Congrats on your victory ^o^

    • Yi says:

      Haha, I don’t mean to brag, but I think I may just have quite a talent for winning giveaways. This isn’t the only one I’ve won. I’ve also gotten a few other items from various giveaways, including $100 gift certificate from Wings of Yuri. It was really nice.

  26. Johnny says:

    Cute, but a little 2 young for me 😮

  27. EmperorG says:

    your memento and story behind the emotional value of a signature is a beautiful one indeed. Sadly the only celebrity memento I have is a childhood photo of myself hugging a guy in a Barney the Dinosaur costume back when I was a hardcore Barney fan of 5. I was a weeeeeeiiiiiiiirrrrd kid and still am today.

    • Yi says:

      The interesting thing is that only a year has passed, and the item already does not feel all that significant. I actually don’t really know what to do with it other than to shelf it and let it eventually be forgotten with time. I suppose in the end, the signature and the gift means little when we don’t actually know each other.

      Nevertheless, there’s still a nice story behind all of this though, and that’s something more worthwhile.

      • EmperorG says:

        Well that does tend to happen. After all, it’s like receiving an autograph from Oprah, it doesn’t mean anything if you’ve never seen the woman in person. Like you said though, it’s the emotions that you felt when you received the autograph that matter.
