Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo (その花びらにくちづけを) began as a simple yuri visual novel that features a really light yuri story. It emphasized the soft romance between two girls and quickly became one of a kind in a world dominated by fetishist and heavy materials. It was also one of the firslonging t ecchi visual novel that features purely yuri relationships. Because of its uniqueness, it soon gained widespread popularity not only within the niche, but among many anime fans.
Following the success of the first game, Sono Hanabira quickly expanded into a series of games that all cater to the sweet fluffy side in us. Since its humble beginning, the visual novel series has also prompted several associated artworks, light novels, drama CDs, an artbook, and even an anime adaptation.
Impeccably complemented by Peko’s gorgeous artwork, Sono Hanabira is definitely one of the most adorable things I have ever seen.

Sorry, up to Chapter 14 of lily platinum have been translated. Games beyond that is yet to be translated.

well…. although translation for the 9th game has finished, AXYPB has yet to release the english patch for the game. so we don’t have the english version of the game yet.

That is a damn shame. But I don’t blame him. I’m currently translating something right now too and it’s a pain in the arse. So for those who keep nagging for the damn patch for 9 need to work on the patience. It’s harder than you think, trust me. And I used to be one of the naggers. :P. So, be patient, Sono Hanabira is worth it.

A Kiss For The Petals – Snow White’s Knight has been delayed to 20 December 2013. A demo will be released on 22 November.
In addition, countdown voices will be published two weeks prior to the new release date and a new mini-drama will launch on 15 November.

Translating stuff is not as easy as you think it would be, same goes to scripting and patching works. The fan-translation groups are trying their best in providing you the translated game, so just wait for them to be done.
if they could have release it sooner, i’m sure they would have done. translation takes long time, not to mention that they are fan translators who has lives outside translation projects.
@seno natsuro: Rushing them really doesn’t help. If you have nothing to contribute to the translation, then please just be patient. If you think you can do a faster job, then do it. The fan community will be highly grateful. Otherwise, your impatience comes off a bit like selfish whining.
I used to be one of the impatient people. Which I regret now considering I now do translation jobs for money. So I know how hard it can be. But you know, Sono Hanabira is worth the wait. So stop nagging and just wait for it. 😛 Am I right?

When I was extracting “Our Campus Life” drama CD, I got a wrong password notice on part 8 of the whole mp3. It’s just me or anybody here got the same problem?
I just tried it, and I didn’t have a problem. It didn’t need a password either. Perhaps you should try re-downloading it.
Yurin Yurin released the first episode of the mini-drama series A Kiss For The Petals – Rikka-Sayuki Theater (その花びらにくちづけを 夏雪劇場 Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo – Natsuyuki Gekijou) on 15 November 2013. Like Risa-Miya Theater and Chiaki-Ringo Theater before it, it will be 10 episodes long and formatted after the visual novel it is promoting.
There is a double meaning to the Japanese title. The word 夏雪 natsuyuki is comprised of the second characters in Rikka and Sayuki’s names written as kanji, 六夏 and 沙雪. However, the Japanese name for the previous mini-drama, Chiaki-Ringo Theater, used the first components of each character’s name, not the ends. Read literally, natsuyuki means “summer snow”, which alludes to the themes of the visual novel Snow White’s Knight. An alternate name for this series could therefore be “Summer Snow Theater”, but I’ve elected to follow the pattern set by the previous mini-drama series.
listening to those two reminds me of someone from previous games. but i can’t quite pin onto who they reminds me of… is it just me? maybe that’s because i don’t understand japanese well.

I actually felt bad for Miya considering that she lost her cool in front of the others.
But the Rikka/Sayuki naked apron scene was hilarious.
She was actually crying, and panicking, and Risa was like “how do I get out of this situation, omg Miya’s crying” xD
I dont fellt bad AT ALL I laughed HARD without any regret…Her reaction was so funny that i almost died alone here. Besides is really refreshing to see a new side of this poker faced lady XD
I feel sorry for using this meme here but i laugh…The face and the dialogue said that she was being delicate and was embarrassed while her face said definitely :”That ass” on that image. Then later on when she began to grope…that really do not surprise me one bit XDD

When the hand position changes a part of the apron disappears in the chest area, i hope that they fix it…There are so little images and they still leave these errors go?It sure sounds laziness or sloppiness here, maybe they were hurrying to finish?Hard to tell since it wasnt the first time and that the debut was delayed
Peko’s got around 100 CGs to complete before his deadline so I completely understand the smaller errors. I’d rather have a delayed release than an incomplete one anytime.

It’s probably because of the garbage text that is in the directory where you unzipped the demo. Move the folder “SHIRAYURI_TRY” to either the desktop or the root of the C:/ drive, and try running it there. Japanese visual novels don’t play well with garbage characters for folder names.
BTW, thanks for the screenshot. I added it to the FAQ and made one of the solutions more clear under “The visual novel doesn’t run correctly.” section.

I searched information about krdevui.dll, but many websites says that it’s a virus. And I don’t know what is written in Japanese in this window.
try moving whole folder SHIRAYUKI_TRY outside of the grabage text folder. it worked for me.
OK. You want to move the folder called “SHIRAYUKI_TRY”, not the file “SHIRAYUKI_TRY.exe”. The error you’re getting is complaining that it’s missing “krdevui.dll” which is needed in order to run the VN.

Oh wow, in Japan both, Kaede and Sara’s, and Takako and Runa’s relationships are completely legal. How…progressive? …un-biased? …sweet? No, none of the words are the one I’m looking for…
I like “progressive.” I actually enjoyed Kaede and Sara’s relationship, but Takako and Runa’s sits a little more uncomfortably with me. It gets into the issue of consent—is Runa actually mature enough to consent?
Bit of correction, Runs and Takako’s relationship is illegal. Age of consent in Japan is 13, and teacher-student relationship is only legal if it is non-sexual.
Not sure what you mean by correction, but yes, national age of consent is 13. However, I don’t think there is any law against teacher-student relationships. More relevant than either of these legal definitions, though, is the ethical dilemma we have here. Runa is presented as a far more precocious child than most, but whether she is that mature for a sexual relationship is the real issue for this fictitious work.
So I noticed that all of dclives’ “Audio Made Visual” SonoHana projects have been lost due to the file hosting services shutting down. I can’t seem to contact him about these projects, but I did manage to get one of the projects “Suki Suki Mai-san”. While the site already has an audio file along with a script, this MKV file puts the two together and adds a visual to put english subtitles on it.

Check out the FAQ here under the section “The visual novel doesn’t run correctly” and see if one of those solutions work for you.
Why must people take something beautiful and ruin it, if you played the game then you’ll see that Runa is the one going after Takako. So why must you make some big deal over consent when she doesn’t evens need it!
1. If by ruining it, you mean thinking and engaging in fiction, then I suppose I am ruining it.
2. If the work can’t stand up to scrutiny and discussion, then it isn’t so beautiful or deserving.
3. In the context of this particular work, underage sex is the biggest deal. It is, after all, the entire premise of their relationship.
4. Consent is not such a simple thing as “someone going after the other”, especially when children are involved. Consider this analogy: a child is enticed with candy for sexual favors and agrees. That does not constitute consent. Now, if we vary that a little. The same child is enticed with a need for a motherly figure, and is willing to provide sexual favors to whichever adult can provide her with that emotional support. We see that her supposed consent is perhaps not a true consent. (As an aside, that Takako does not even acknowledge this possibility makes her very deplorable.)
The argument can be made that Runa is mature enough to differentiate between what type of relationship she wants or needs. I don’t think she is. There is also an issue of whether Runa is mature enough for a sexual relationship, especially at an age when her sexual maturity may not even be fully developed.
I hope I have further ruined this “beautiful” thing.

The new couple looks like Narumi and Akira from the Blue Series. It says that this game will probably come out next spring in 2014. However, knowing gaming companies, it’ll probably come out around next summer is what I’m guessing, with all the last final touches, adjustments, and all.
Personally, I am excited to hear the opening song for this because of Anzu Hana’s (杏花）song.

Do you have any reliable source for hanahira characters’ age?
Even though they look so young but I think I have evidences that they are high schoolers and even the third-year student.
The first thing is their uniform. They have the same uniform as high schooler in the main series, include the summer uniform (in the light novel Noisy Girls of the Beach – 渚のかしまし娘たち) , while Runa’s elementary and middle school uniform look different.
The secound point is the classroom back ground. They have the same classroom design as Shizuku and Erisu’s classroom. And in SH8, when Shizuku was giving Erisu a tour, Shizuku said:
– 「今でこそ沢山の校舎がありますが、初めは人数も少なかったものですから、建物はこの旧校舎だけだったの」=「Nowadays, there are a number of buildings here, but originally this was the only one. There weren’t as many people attending back then, after all.」
– 「教室も少ないので、ここで学べるのは、わたくしたち３年生だけなんです」=「There aren’t many classrooms either, so only we third-year students have lessons here.」
– 「当時の文化を感じられる作りで、学生からも人気なんですよ」=「The building has the look and feel of the culture back then, so it’s quite popular with the student body.」

Doesn’t that meant Hanahira girls are indeed 3rd year highschooler? Then they are even older than many characters in the main series? Maybe they look as old as Shizuku and Erisu in the chibi CGs :D.
Yes, they’re in highschool. It’s just the artwork that is different. They might be in their freshman year (first year in highschool) though, because I think I remember them talking about Shizuku and Erisu as “upper classmen”. So, just think of them to be around 16 years old. However, in the game world, there’s an inside joke on how all characters are over the age of “18.”
Talking about Shizuku and Erisu as “senpai” makes Hanahira girls younger than them but that doesn’t mean Hanahira girls are not 3rd year students. Because the order of the time line in Sono Hanabira is not the same as the order of releasing (SH 1,2,3,7,8 start at the same academic year’s begining, which obviously means SH 4,5,6 occur after SH 7,8). Btw, I can’t read Japanese at all so can you tell me more about how they talk about Shizuku and Erisu?
Connecting evidences then they should be 3rd year students (in the time Hanahira occur) and Hanahira occurs later than the time Shizuku and Erisu graduate. This explain why they didn’t take part in the St.Michael’s Best Couples, and ready to take part in the next Sono Hanabira visual novel!
Hmm… yes, you’re right. I guess you could assume that they are in their third year if you want. It’s been a while since I played the game. I just remember them talking about the (りりプラチナム) the Lily Platinum during the game. Lily Platinum was something popular with the underclassmen at the school, so the fact that the characters referred to Shizuku as Lily Platinum, I just assumed that the characters were underclassmen as well.
I would also keep in mind that the maker for Hanahira はなひら isn’t Yurin Yurin ゆりんゆりん. It was Fuguriya ふぐり屋. Therefore, the time they made this game, the idea of the St. Michel’s best couple voting didn’t even exist. Also, Hanahira isn’t a 18 plus rated game, so that just might be the reason they don’t exist in the Yurin Yurin games.
I guess it is just up for interpretation about their age. It doesn’t state their ages on the sites or anything so.

Walkthrough if anyone wants it:
SPOILERS (KINDA, NOT REALLY)
For the first runthrough (not sure if you need to complete the new main couple’s story first or not but I’m assuming you do):
1,1,1,1,2, then 1,1,1 gives you all the new couple scenes
Then replaying from the start all over again,
1,1,1,2,1 leads to a choice where you can choose which of the 5 couples you want
1 leads to Risa/Mika, 2 leads to Yuuna/Nanami, 3 leads to Kaede/Sara, 4 leads to Mai/Reo, 5 leads to the original couple
After that, each couple route has 3 choices, and just choose 1,1,1 for all of them EXCEPT Mai/Reo, do 1,1,2, to get all the scenes.
And, finally, if you happen to replay any of them, you might get a choice at the end on a black screen. 1 shows the credits again, 2 goes to the title screen. Not sure if this showed up in any previous games, just something I saw when repeating a couple’s route.

On 20 December 2013, the day A Kiss For The Petals – Snow White’s Knight was released, Fuguriya announced three new products for release during Comiket 85 on 31 December:
A Kiss For The Petals – Our Private Morning Straight from a Movie, a drama CD featuring Risa and Miya.
A Kiss For The Petals – Kitten Love, a drama CD featuring Rikka and Sayuki.
First Love Melon Kiss, the CD single featuring the theme song to Snow White’s Knight. Curiously, Mai is featured on the cover despite the theme being sung by Anzu Hana.
Additionally, Fuguriya addressed concerns over the omission of story routes for Takako, Runa, Shizuku, and Eris in a news post dated 12 December 2013. In short, the introduction of a new couple made Yurin Yurin unable to include them within space limitations, so they elected to keep their involvement minimal. They are now working on new dedicated products for these couples, but did not give details.
Yurin Yurin also announced the visual novel A Kiss For The Petals – The Angels’ Promise but has not given a specifc release date outside of next spring. It features Inatori Akira and Hikawa Narumi, who were previously seen as supporting characters in the previous two Angel series visual novels. This will conclude the first set of visual novels for the Angel series.

How did you download it? And where?
If it’s an ISO or an Mds/mdf, you might need Alcohol 52% or Alcohol 120% to get it to work after you have extracted it.
It was too good to be true, it dont work for me either, i changed the region and everything and nothing changes, the strange thing is that i did the same for maidens of michael and everything worked well, but in this one it dont even open… T-T
dunno about you guys but, i think you need AlphaROM Cracker installed to your computer. well you see, everything i need to install/play VNs are already in my computer so i’m not sure which one worked on mine. hope that helpes
If you could mention what file extension is attached to the disc image, it would go a long way to help. In any case, instead of ARC, I would see if I could get a copy of PowerISO available and mount the image to a virtual drive instead of trying to extract directly, if that’s what you’re doing.
The files contain a .iso and .mds. I use MagicIso. Daemon Tools should work too.

yaoi might be reasonable but Japan already has a ton of games like that, same goes for heterosexual ones, but I think yuri is the only possible way to capture such romantic and sweet and erotic moments like the ones Sonohana has in abundance
As someone who’s folliowed/stalked this blog for a few years now (BTW, Yi, hi again), I feel that Sono Hana can only work through yuri, as while I’m sure that hetero and yaoi VNs of the same emotional capacity have or could pop up, it’s really hard to make something in either subset completely sympathetic without losing interest or leading somewhere else. Additionally, Fuguriya and Yurin Yurin have both gone on record saying that they will dedicate themselves to yuri, so I doubt it would ever happen.

I just found out that you can delete the game slot’s by going into the SAVE folder and deleting the GAME.SAV files Will that affect the game in any other way?
I don’t think so. I’ve deleted the Save files for the older games a lot whenever I wanted to do a clean install. I also did it when I compiled the first twelve games (Hanahira and Maidens of St. Michael included) on MEGA, so I think you’re good.
For SH1->10 and Hanahira (I haven’t played other VNs), you can delete save files in SAVE folder to delete game slots. And notice that there are two special things:
– There can be a save file with a number like 99 (while normally you have 50 slot which should be numbered as 00->49). This is the file for quick save.
– There is a CONFIG file. It contains config (of course 😀 ) and your progress (extra unlocking). Deleting it will make your extra all locked (The game automatically generates a new config file when you run the exe file). You can also copy a CONFIG file to ANOTHER VN(for example from SH3 to SH5) and it’ll unlock your extra! Although not always completely unlocked because of the amount of CG, for example the 5th ev in SH3 has 1 CG and the 5th ev in SH5 has 2 CGs then you’ll miss the 5th ev’s secound CG; and Hanahira has more events than others.

So guys do you think that it’s possible that the eris x shizuku and takako x runa couples return to be “playable” in any of the canon SH games coming from now on? Or do you believe that the tendency is that these couples start to being even more forgotten just simply vanishing in the upcoming games? I really want opinions from others since these two are my favorite couples and I really disappointed with the last game where they not have even a significant participation.

Is Michael Otome-tachi is only for psp beacause it’s on a ISO. file
you have to mount the image with some software or burn it to a dvd so you can play… I usually use poweriso to creat a virtual disc and then mount the image in it, then you can access the setup.ex and all that =]
So you mean, if I burn the file I can play it through pc?
Not necessarily. Use an disc image program like magic disk which allows you to create virtual cd rom drives and load cd images like .isos

I think it was pretty great
It was boring to be very honest….and I generally hated the individual stories.
SPOILER ALERT PEOPLE:
1- Reo was alone in most of her screen time (or with Mai’s brothers)…what was the poit of that? I like Mai too! Why so much focus on the tsundere alone? I do like her interation with Eris indeed but we almost didnt see Mai’s face…
2- Kaede and Sara….for me the “I will be a model too just because Sara says so” Sounds TERRIBLE, weak and of the character to me…(i know that this isnt new) but it sounds like the authors are wanting to do fanservice too bad using Kaede because of her breast size and ignoring her (and this dont works for me)ignoring her reserved personality. Ok she dress up for Sara and vice versa but for the cameras?Just because she says so?No.
3- Kaede and Sara again…I do love these 2….maybe because of that i have to say that i deslike this….they have the shortest H-time (just 3 scenes if i do remember well) and in 2 of them they were role-playing….they were not being themselves, i mean c’mon!
4 – Shizuku and Eris! …WHY?!
5- The main story was more “exciting” thing and still….It wasnt so good…
So she had a pretender?So what if everybody KNOWS that she will stay going out with the other girl anyways? The story was going so good so far but then they tried to do this big predicable drama about this when they never ever dared to put drama or some reality in the stupid Pedophile couple (That thanks GOD wasnt on these one, i hate this “couple” SO hard XDDDD). That was terrible, I could not decide if I could laugh or cry with that.

to be honest my japaneze isnt perfect too, and i just understand a fer things so i did not get why she was missing too, later on i just knew that she was in the hospital and something had happened with her mother so she was there for her. First i I thought she had an accident or was sick but in the end I was surprised that she was pregnant, i also missed a lot of the things that happened but at least thats what i know ^^
I am self taught and I’m learning just listening now and i also do not understand the written words…but at least thats what i know, i hope i had helped.
To be honest, the latest titles seems to be suffering on overused plots and recycled ideas… which makes them not as interesting as previous ones.
Also so far, the ‘Nurse School’ titles have a big distinction in the story vibes as they were written by a different scenario writer (original hanabira series were written by Sano and JUN, the new spinoff were written by madoka). In my opinion, Madoka is trying hard to make the story fits well with the originals but as a result she failed… There were too much melodrama and unnecessary plot tweaks in both nurse titles.
We have a mixed bag here, while most people think the latest games had the best stories so far, some people think they’re weak compared to the older ones, I think they’re improving a lot lately but to each on his own I guess
You used the right word here: MELODRAMA! Its amazing how when there is a change between the writers of a story always something really good is lost..
Pitty but maybe it’s a good time to me say goodbye to this series and go back to see the regular stuff again. ( Ive never been too much into yuri stuff anyways)

I love Pecos art styles! While I’m not really a fan of heterosexually oriented visual novels, the girls do look super lovely!
Played Konayuki Fururi and it was good. Good story and characters. The main girl is played by Angel Beat’s Yurippe’s seiyuu (Sakurai Harumi) while the original Nanami’s seiyuu played the side character which acts as the protag’s childhood friend. Her only route is specially released in the next additional pack, unfortunately.

Me too! It seems like the nurse Sono hana series isn’t as popular as the Classic Sono hana series (which is understandable considering how long it’s only been out), but I honestly like the nurse series too. (I have no idea why they made the chest sizes the way they did though… )
Madoka, the writer for this series is pretty well known for her scenario writing in the yuri world. I am especially excited for this couple because I feel like Madoka likes characters similar to Akira considering her past work in other yuri games… There’s always a tsundere with long black hair. Haha

Someone brought up the idea that Hisako Kanemoto is Anzu Hana sometime ago. It was pretty much dismissed then as there is no conclusive source that they are the same. I’m not sure why Wikipedia has Anzu Hana redirected to Hisako Kanemoto.

Even though there’s no conclusive evidence, now that I’ve been exposed to the speculation I can’t help imagining a “degeso” or “naika” at the end of half the things Reo says. Not complaining though! I enjoyed Ika Musume.

I’m a little out of touch, but I wonder how popular the nurse series is. That there was a debate about going through with the Narumi and Akira games seems to suggest that perhaps the nurses haven’t been that big of a hit, and the emphasis on Akira x Narumi couple may be a new effort to gain some momentum on this front. This is just pure baseless and pointless speculation on my part though.

So this is for the ReoxMai fans. If you really like Reo or Mai, you would probably enjoy watching the Reoppoi Radio (玲緒っぽいらじお). Anzu Hana is the personality for this radio and she talks about all sorts of stuff… Stuff that I can’t really keep up with honestly. She speaks in her “Reo” voice though and sometimes guests from the games come and visit.

Now, we only need either a Sakura Trick VN made by yurinyurin or Haruka&Yuu clones on the next sonohana game (but then again Nanami&Yuuna basically follows the same formula as them).

So far, Narumi x Akira is the best nurse school title so far though still got some dragged parts here and there. Akira have mixed personality that of Reo and Shizuku.
Me too! Before playing the game, I really liked Akira, but after playing it, I think I like Narumi more. I like her personality.
I haven’t played the game, but I just looked through the CG of the game and had a question about it. I noticed that most of the pictures had Akira crying. What was that about? I appreciate it if anyone can tell me. Thanks 🙂

Hey, has anyone heard the Drama CD “Our Campus Life”? Because I listened to the whole thing recently and in Track 10, I kind of understood what was going on. I was probably thinking that Eris is teaching Shizuku some English, but I could be wrong. I appreciate it if anyone could tell me. Thanks! 🙂

That’s about right. But Track 10 is a “Free Talk” corner. So in Free Talk corner, Eris is basically teaching/making Shizuku say embarrassing English lol. “Moe Moe Englishu!” That’s what she said.

I just had a thought: Wouldn’t be great if Sono Hanabira was an anime series? It could feature all the couples and I think the main characters would be Nanami and Yuuna, just because Nanami’s friends Aoi, Rin and Misaki are involved. What do you guys think?

I totally get what you’re saying, an anime series (or another OVA at least) would be a gift sent by the yuri gods, and im up for the idea of Nanami and Yuuna being the main characters, it could start when Nanami met her and then work it out from there, and as the series go, the other couples show up as well

There would probably need to be substantial addition to the story other than an adaptation of the visual novels. There’s a lot of fluff and sex scenes that I’m doubtful would fit an anime series well.
I’ve been a fan of Sono Hana for a year now, and I’ve noticed a few things about it. One, I know that Mai and Shizuku are close friends and Reo and Eris have a one sided rivalry. Does it always involve having big breasts, and does Eris even care about this rivalry?
Also, I’ve noticed lately that Risa and Miya somehow resemble Madoka and Homura (if any of you know these two). If not, they are from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Is it true?
Lastly, it seems that Kaede and Takako are friends as well and I can tell right away that they have a couple things in common. 1. They are both shy. 2. Their lovers seem to be the dominant ones (if I’m phrasing it right). But what else do they have in common? Or is that just it?

Since i can’t read Kanji/Katakana i can’t answer these too well but here goes.
1. Reo’s and Eri’s rivalry i’m not sure about i’ve heard they do have one but no idea why i’m guessing it is due to breast sizes.
2. I’m only about half way through the Risa/Miya theater i’m gonna carry one once Maidens of Micheal FINALLY get’s a eng translation but so far no i’ve not noticed any similarities i’ve not seen the Rebellion Story so no idea about Homura’s “current” form but neither her Moemura or Hommando forms resemble either Risa or Miya same with Madoka.
3. About Kaede by Sono Hana 4 she’s mostly the dominant one in her’s and Sara’s relationship i’m replaying it now and i’m certain however again i can only understand the ones that have been translated into english so far so from 7 onwards i think it is my knowledge is seriously lacking.
Reo and Eris relationship is more like a love-hate one, Reo doesn’t like Eris because she’s more well endowed and Eris likes to tease Reo about her petite form, but despite that, they care about each other in fact in the ErisShizuku route in Maidens of Michael she does a great favor to Shizuku in regard to Eris.
Also Takako and Kaede have something else in common, they both have huge breasts 😛
Oh, I see. Because in Maidens of Michael, there’s some CG pictures of Reo and Eris. one is when they present some valentines, another is when they fight over something and the last one is when Eris is hugging Reo, probably apologizing to her or something.
In Snow White’s Knight, there is a CG on Reo and Eris again, this time while drinking tea. I’m thinking that Eris is teasing her again because of Reo’s expression, but I could be wrong. Anyway, that’s what I think those pictures are about. What do you guys think?

Reo and Eris are Frienemies (Friend/enemy). it started when Mai and Reo meet Shizuku and Eris in open air baths. (Comiket volume 81 bonus) but now they are friends.
also, in later series, Kaede becomes less shy and more bold. she even started modelling.

Kaede is less shy? That can explain the drama CD “Kaede-chan Super Mode”. But thanks for the info. I always get the impression that Kaede is always the shy person. I don’t know about Takako, though. I’m guessing she’s like Kaede, too, where she becomes more of a bold person, but I could be wrong. I get the impression that Takako is always shy as well possibly because of Runa or that’s just Takako’s personality.
Mai/Reo and Eris/Shizuku are all basically friends. Reo is just “Tsundere” over Eris’ “Monster Breasts” and this is why they often get into arguments, although it’s more of a “one-sided argument” on Reo’s side, because Eris would never argue with people. Basically, Eris doesn’t care about this rivalry. If she wants Reo’s good-side, she’ll just fish her with sweets. LOL.
About MiyaRisa, people have noticed that ever since the concept art came out.
About Kaede/Takako, this is probably because they’re both shy girls who has younger lovers. Most likely.
Hey, I’ve just listened to Rikka and Sayuki Drama CD “Kitten Love” and I understand a little about what’s going on, at least the beginning that is. So, Rikka finds this little kitten somewhere and decides to show Sayuki. But when she does, Sayuki becomes very timid or something for some reason, leaving Rikka dumbfounded. Then later, Rikka becomes even more surprised when she sees Sayuki-san actually playing with the kitten.
So I’m further into the drama cd and it seems that Sayuki was crying about something. Was Rikka angry with her? Or did Sayuki-san feel so guilty that she had to cry? I don’t know but that’s the impression I’m getting. Would someone please explain it to me if they ever listened to their Drama CD?
By the way, the kitten noises were so cute!~ 🙂 🙂
Basically Sayuki loves cats, but very embarrassed about it (because of bad happening in her childhood), and tries to hide it from Rikka. So at one side she wants to hug kitten, but on the other putting her best effort, to not show any interest. But later when Rikka left, Sayuki started to play with kitten… and was discovered by Rikka, whe she come back. So she was crying because she was seen and worried that Rikka would not think well about it.
Oh, I forgot to mention this yesterday: I’ve just realized that there are more tsundere girls in the Sono Hana series, like Reo, Risa, Shizuku and Akira. I don’t know about Ringo and Runa though. Somehow, I’m feeling that the writers got the other tsunderes because of Reo. After all, Reo is the Number 1 tsundere in the Sono Hana series.
Also, I’ve been questioning about which Sono Hana character teases their lover the most. I bet it’s Mai since she’s head over heals with Reo and her cuteness. Eris could be second since she makes Shizuku’s tsundere personality to happen. (I think). And then, Miya teasing Risa and then Narumi probably teasing Akira as well. (By the way, doesn’t Akira resemble Shizuku because of the hime-cut hair of hers?)
Lastly, in the Sono Hana Nurse Series, I keep having the feeling that Ringo is a tsundere as well, but I could be wrong. She seems to act like it a little bit due to Chiaki being all over her.
So, if any of you guys can tell me which character teases their lover the most and how the writers got more tsundere girls, let me know. Thanks.
Character that teases their lover the most is 100/10 Miya. She’s an opportunist, she’ll tease Risa in wherever/whatever situation there is because 1) She knows Risa is a serious person 2) Since she’s a serious person she doesn’t care about getting back at her 3) Risa is too Tsundere Miya can’t help it.
Out of all the Tsundere in the series, I believe Risa is the most generic one, because she’s kind to everyone, except her object of interests. (Remember how Miya/Risa started with love-hate lmao). Reo is the “Tsun” Type of Tsundere, where she’s basically just like that and the dere is reserved for the lover during dere moments. Shizuku would be considered the “Dere” Type since she’s mostly dere, but if push comes to shove and Eris decides to troll her she becomes Tsun. Not sure about the Nurse games, never played them.
Ringo’s not a tsundere. She just gets mad for being treated like a child.
Akira is “Tsun” since she’s harsh to everyone but opens up to Narumi. Narumi does tease Akira, but Narumi messes around with everyone.
We got more Tsunderes because Tsunderes are good, enough said.
Does anyone like Ringo’s voice in “Longing of an Angel”? For me, I didn’t really think it fits her because it sounds a little older than she looks, but as I started watching the Chiaki and Ringo theatre, I got used to it more and more. Chiaki’s voice is awesome, considering she’s soft-spoken and all. Anyway, that’s my opinion of Ringo’s voice.
I think that Ringo’s voice suits her and it’s cute. Even though she’s around 18 her voice has a slight “squeak” to it making her sound immature. Ringo’s easily the most childish out of the nursing students even though she tries not to. So I think her voice is perfect for someone like her trying to act more grown-up (and failing).
Eh? I thought Chiaki was the childish one. Am I missing something here? But then again, I haven’t played the game nor can understand Japanese.
Chiaki is mostly mature but acts sloppy at home (around Ringo). Ringo is childish so even her friends treat her like a kid at times.
I’ve been a fan of SonoHana for about two years now and recently, I’ve been wanting to write a fanfic since there appears to be very little of them. Currently I have two ideas (AU/Fantasy/Action): crossover with Baccano! and a story involving the girls battling dinosaurs created by a mad scientist. (It sounds silly, yes. But I have a very active imagination. :D) So what sounds cool and how do I portray/present the story?
well, the idea of Sonohana characters being alchemists, mafia thugs, etc. sounds like a promising idea but the other one seems interesting too, I think you’ll have more luck with the first one but if you feel more relaxed when you’re working with your own ideas then go try the second one, it all depends in what you want to do with the story after all.

For those of you who know Rena, Runa’s little sister, how old do you think she is? I know for certain that Takako is in her early 20’s, probably about 24 or so. I’m probably thinking Rena is about in her late 20’s or early 30’s. That’s what I’m thinking because Sono Hanabira rarely tells us the character’s ages.

I think she should be around Takako’s age. Their high school lives overlapped, which probably suggests that they’re within three years of each other. So, late 20’s seem like an appropriate guess.

Does anyone think Peko’s art is better than it did from the first Sono Hanabira game? I can sort of tell the difference from the first one to the 12th game, Maidens of Michael and Snow White’s Knight. I could be wrong, but I’m sure that it’s the same artist.

OK, I looked up Snow White’s Knight recently and noticed on the relationship chart that Rikka and Risa are chlidhood friends. And because of that, Miya seems to be jealous of Rikka while Rikka is scared of her. To me, I can understand why Miya would have such rivalry with Rikka, like having Risa all to herself, but what would make Rikka scared of Miya?
It says on the synopsis for Maidens of Michael and in the sono hanabira wiki that Reo is “the star singer of the cultural festival.” However, I don’t really know when that happened in the games. Did I miss something? Is it in the drama CDs? I really want to know and see/hear what Mai’s reaction was when she first heard Reo sing! Someone help? :3

Was anyone else shocked when you first heard Anzu Hana’s voice as Satsuki? To me, I was very surprised that she would have such a wonderful voice instead of her high-pitched, yet adorable Reo voice of hers. I mean, I found out that Hana voiced Satsuki as well just a year ago. And to be honest, I got so used to her Reo voice that I was actually shocked to hear her real voice as Satsuki. Besides, I’m amazed how long Hana can keep up with her high-pitched voice when she plays Reo. Anyone agree?
And speaking of voices, which seiyuu fits Nanami more? Because I looked up her character and it says that she’s voiced by several different actresses, including the drama CDs. In my opinion, I think her voice in Snow White’s Knight and Maidens of Michael fits her the most. Don’t know about the first and 6th game. I mean it’s okay, it’s just that I don’t have any other opinion on it since she’s voiced by more than one actress.
I love Reo and Satsuki’s voices, Anzu Hana is quite talented. The recent Reoppoi Radio were hilarious – having to switch between Reo and Satsuki must have been tough.
I prefer Nanami’s voice from the 1st and 6th games. Ever since the full-price games, they made everyone more “cutesy,” like Reo getting slightly higher-pitched and Nanami getting a new voice. I got used to Nanami’s new voice, but it just doesn’t have that “spunky ordinary girl” feel to it that made her stand out.
I agree, her old voice, or the one used for their second Drama CD, was adorablelicious and really fit her character

You know, since Mai and Reo are friends with Shizuku and Eris most of the time, I’m feeling that’s probably the reason why they made the drama CD “Dark-Haired Lovers”, in which we never get to listen to. Just wondering, does it take place after Maidens of Michael or during? I can never keep track of what time period those drama CDs were made, like in “Our Campus Life”, I think it takes place after Shizuku and Eris’s graduation and going into college (at least, that’s what I read in the synopsis). By the way, what is the “Secret Black-Haired Society” that Mai and Shizuku are in really? I mean, I know it’s a secret and all, but can someone at least give me a few hints or so? Thanks.
I also listened to the Drama CD “Kaede-chan Newly Wed Cooking” and I’m kind of in the third track or fourth track. While listening to it, I feel totally lost. I understood most of it as usual, but when I got further, I have no idea what’s going on. Anyway, on the 3rd track, I sort of had this impression that something went wrong when Sara came home or something and she was crying. So, Kaede offered her some food to calm her down. I can’t remember what happened after that.
Then, on the 4th track, I think it was Sara or Kaede muttering to herself as she was in her room or something. (I can’t tell between Kaede and Sara’s voices because they sound a little similar). Anyway, something happened there and I think Sara slipped and knocked over some pots, making Kaede worry. Next, Sara went outside for some reason cause I heard some wind noise and Kaede was trying to stop her. The next thing I heard was, “Kaede-chan . . . sayonara.” And then, I heard another wind noise and a thud on the ground, leaving Kaede crying out to her lover. I don’t know if Sara’s trying to commit suicide or if it’s just a dream Kaede’s having. Can someone explain this to me if they listened to the Drama CD? I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
Damn i really hope that last one is just a dream especially considering just how deeply Kaede and Sara loved each other in Beloved Photograph to the point where Kaede proposed to Sara but yeah i’d like to know what’s going on now
So . . . what do you guys think of the 2nd Sono Hana game? I mean, I’ve watched someone actually play it on YouTube and he didn’t like it. He said something about the game not having a good story line or something. I don’t know, but it seems that the 2nd game wasn’t as good as the 1st one. In my opinion, it’s okay, but now that I think about it, it really doesn’t have a good plot to it other than Kaede meeting her cousin again.
Well, the first 3 games would have some weak plots if they were a regular VN but for an eroge its pretty good, the cool thing about Sonohana is that not only the characters develop but the storylines as well to the point you can see that Maidens of Michael or Snow White Knight have some nice storylines

Is there going to be a Narumi and Akira theatre of some sort or not? Because I keep having the feeling that it will never happen.
I have a question about Akira regarding “An Angel’s Promise.” I saw a CG of her past and was wondering what was about. Did someone die or something? And also, there was another where there was a chibi version of Narumi and Akira and Akira was picturing herself as a skeleton. Is that what she sees herself or is it the other way around? Those are just different ways to call it, no big deal.
And, in the first game, after they became a couple, Yuuna asked Nanami if she could refer to her as ‘Onee-sama’ when they are alone, there’s no reason to it I guess other than being one of Yuuna’s dreams, personally, i think its cute

LN takes longer time to be translated for obvious reason of them being longer. however, they don’t get translated that often anyways.

I’ve been questioning about Mai’s voice since I heard the OVA. It seems that they’ve raised the pitch a bit to make it seem cuter, I guess. I don’t know. But, in my opinion, I prefer Mai’s voice in the Visual Novels. It sounds more mature and kind of boyish. What do you guys think of Mai’s voice in the VN vs the OVA?
Yeah, they’ve raised the pitch for both Mai’s and Reo’s voices (My first thought was that they got new voice actresses (hope that will never happen!! >.<))
So yes, i totally agree with you. The more boyish voice Mai has in the VN's just fits her perfectly.
Same goes with Reo. I don't want to say she sounds boyish, but her voice is a little more husky (if thats the right word) than in the OVA.

Wow! I just read the English translated Mai and Reo Light Novel Our Hot Summer Together and I’m surprised that the whole thing is in Reo’s point of view. In the other one, Seize the Summer, it’s in both Mai and Reo’s point of view. For these two, they are really made for each other.
Speaking of Reo, I have some questions about her. It seems that she has a fear of strangers and is often alone at her apartment. What made her have this type of fear? Was she always this lonely and aggressive before she met Mai? Is her tsundere personality the only thing that made her popular? Knowing Reo, she must have a difficult childhood and I kind of feel bad for her. What do you guys think of her other than her aggressive self? If someone can explain that to me, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

I’ve also been very impressed about how Reo saw life … caused me much pain the beginning, but at least I’m glad she’s found a great person as Mai, to accompany her ever … even she has to often caring for younger siblings

Oh, by the way, I’ve read the newly translated light novel as well and honestly, I liked it when it was in Reo’s point of view. It gives me a whole new perspective on her and some of her background. Anyone agree?
Also, about Reo’s fear of strangers, I don’t know how she has that fear either, but there is one part in the third game where Mai tries to have Reo make friends with some of their classmates and it didn’t turn out too well. It just made Reo angry after the girls were being all over her. Is that one part of her fear or am I missing something?

From what I remember of their first visual novel, Reo’s fear of loneliness and tendency to push away others stem partly from her home life, where her parents often had to leave her alone for hours on end due to work. At least, that was the impression I got.
