A Collection of Personal Thoughts

Some Thoughts

Hanabira 7 Amakute Hoshiteru Chuu Runa

I have been blogging for about three years. In the earlier days, I was much more inconsistent both in content and in updates. I blogged alone with little readers and feedbacks, so I just wrote whatever came to my mind. I posted a lot of personal thoughts on my life, school, random interesting things, and even politics once.

Hanabira 8 Shizuka Erisu Calligraphy

Through the support of many and a lot of luck, the blog now has some more readers. As such, I often feel an obligation to update frequently, to write better, and to have more relevant posts. The blog is not as listless as it used to be, nor did it have the ink that I originally intended it to have.

This is not a bad thing and I love my blog as it is now.

Still, I thought it might be nice to post something reminiscent of my earlier blogging days (at least in content as my writing has changed somewhat). This post is in some ways a nostalgia trip.

Personal thought 1:

Spangle call Lilli line View cover

In the comments of an earlier post, 2DT recommended Advantage Lucy to me. I really really loved the group. A few weeks ago, I got another recommendation for an indie group in an email – Spangle call Lilli line. (Thanks so much!) It is exactly the type of music I love.

Let us all laze around with a relaxed melody and the warm summer breeze.

Personal thought 2:

Sono Hanabira Yuuna self relieve

I am currently applying to medical school. After two weeks of working on a paper, I have only two words saved in my word document, “Personal Statement.” I really need to stop getting distracted sitting at my desk and get on with the application.

Personal thought 3:

akiyama mio k-on tainaka ritsu wallpaper

This season of anime has re-sparked my dying interest. I am consuming episodes at the rate I once was back in 2006. I am keeping up to date with K-On!!, Angel Beats, and other airing anime while getting through my massive backlog.

Personal thought 4:

While my time in Taiwan has been wonderful, the primary reason for my stay here has been to take care of some serious family stuff. It can get a bit difficult and somewhat overwhelming… I am more than ecstatic to see my family though. But enough with the unhappy things.

Boba bubble milk tea pearl milk tea tapioca Coco Taiwan

Taiwan, as the birthplace of boba (bubble tea), has the best drinks. Very fortunately, I live merely five minutes away from some really cheap and large drinks at CoCo, which is now officially my favorite place in the world. Milk, green, black, wheat, oolong, earl, coffee, lemon, juice, and yakult. Tapioca, aloe, grass jelly, rainbow jelly, pudding, passion fruit, and 米苔目. The combinations are endless. They induce orgasms in my mouth. And I know about having orgasms in my mouth. (j/k)

Anyways, I am having oolong green tea with tapioca, pudding, and grass jelly as I type this.

Personal thought 5:

Hanabira Reo Mai yuri crepes

I mentioned The Aniblog Tourney sometime ago. I have gone through yet another round and am now facing Random Curiosity, who needs no further introduction. As one of the earliest and biggest anime blogs, they have done wonderful things for many anime fans, and they are well respected for that. It would mean a lot to me if I could have a nice showing in the poll against such a giant in the anime community. The poll ends in two days, so head over and give it a look. Poll is now closed. Thank you for the support.

Here are some recent posts that I think are representative of my blog for those undecided:
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun
The Homeless in Arakawa Under the Bridge
Sono Hanabira Anime Spoilers in Yuri Hime and Hanabira 9 Couple

Hanabira couples

As a side note, I have received quite some pointed criticisms and they have been great. Further, the heartwarming support from people has also been just incredible and truly touching. Thank you so much!

  1. AXYPB says:

    On personal note 3.

A good friend of mine watched anime voraciously until 2007. As of the last few years, he has stopped completely, saying that nothing from this season interests him. It took a recommendation from me (guess what it was) to get him to pick up interest again, but he has a lot to say about the state of the industry and I dare not share any of it here.

    • Yi says:

      @AXYPB: I’m guessing Hanabira?
I’m actually a bit curious about what he has to say about the recent state of anime industry. I’ve heard a lot of people lamenting about it, but also many who are fine with it. Well, the state can’t be that bad if Hanabira is getting an anime adaptation right?

      • AXYPB says:

He’s gotten into more debates over anime trends than I care to count. I think he would say something like “What does it say about anime today that a single hentai OVA is the only thing that interests me this decade?” He jokes that people only pretend to like popular shows when he doesn’t see the selling points of them. Actually, sometimes he sounds like he really believes that.

        • Yi says:

          @AXYPB: Haha.
“He jokes that people only pretend to like popular shows when he doesn’t see the selling points of them. ”
          That’s an interesting thought.

  2. Canne says:

thought1: You know you have my support in tourney. Your victory would be more memorable than RC’s which hardly need it or care about it anyway.

thought2: I’m skeptical about your applying to med school. I went through that for the last 6 years and it was hard. But above all else, I am afraid the med school would take Yi the blogger away. That sounds selfish, I know o_o

thought3: those tea looks yummy but I am more a coffee person.

    • Yi says:

@Canne: Thank you so much for your support, both in the tourney and more importantly on this blog.
“I’m skeptical about your applying to med school.”
      Haha, skeptical huh?
I really am applying though. I was premed in college and have already taken my MCATs and stuff. Anyways, it’s going to be a tough road ahead. I honestly admired that you’ve kept a very fine blog as a med student.

You can get boba coffee too. Imagine coffee with all the different stuff, like pudding!

  3. Guy says:

Foreward: I get the obligation, but, it’s interesting you call it more “relevant posts”, as if the audience decides what is relevant 😉 It’s not entirely without logic though, which is why I have 4 blogs(!).

Thought 1: You like weird music dude. Weird music… 😉 But if you want to chill, look up the song “St. Clare” by Susan Vega.

Thought 2: Write words, just let them spill out of you. It’s easier to go back and edit after, or make sense, after you let out the block. And good luck! I didn’t like my stint in the medical field. I sure do have some amusing stories from working there (for over 2 years…).

Thought 3: I also plan to do a post about my anime backlog, but anime backlog is ok, what I really hate is when I don’t read books. Luckily, these days I read ok, so I’m not sad. Not fast enough, but with the end of my B.A., it’s understandable.

Others: LOVE the Thought 5 art, hate tea, or at least dislike it.

    • Yi says:

@Guy: Interesting that you should pick up on “relevant.” When I was writing this post, I also paused on that word, but decided that “anime-related” is just too bulky. Nowadays, those are synonymous for this blog and it’s not entirely because of the readers.

I do like weird music! I’ve been told by many, although I do like some mainstream artists as well, like Lady Gaga. Looking up St. Clare by Susan Vega now.

I hope you get to read lots of books soon. I don’t read books that much. Rather, I mostly read magazines and newspapers for printed material. I should read more books though.

There are other options for boba. The good thing is that you get to mix and match! And I love the Hanabira artwork as well. So cute!

  4. phossil says:

On personal thought 2: Med school can be very time demanding sometimes, reading books and studying. Make sure to organize well for those activities. I have many good friends from med school. ^^

  5. Yumeka says:

I’ve also been blogging for about three years and was rather inconsistent with posts in my early years (mostly ’cause I was also working on my main web site). And also with some support and luck, I’ve managed to gain readers overtime. So I’m no longer “talking to myself” and I feel more obligated to post frequently.

    On Personal Thought 4:

I’m a big tea drinker myself, though I just like plain black or green tea. I’ve only recently started to acquire a taste for coffee, though I still much prefer tea.

    On Personal Thought 5:

I voted for you~! Lots of luck going up against a giant like RC.

    • Yi says:

@Yumeka: Yea. It’s really nice to read comments and to see that there is someone reading. I’m really glad that this blog now has more readers and I am always thankful of all of them.

Thank you for your comment and your support.

“I’m a big tea drinker myself, though I just like plain black or green tea.”
Same here. I love tea! As for coffee, I’ve tried drinking it on many occasions, but never really seemed to develop a liking for the bitterness. I love the smell of it though and I love any coffee cake or other related sweets.

  6. Baka-Raptor says:

Sure you want to be a doctor? You’ll have to touch sick people. Most of them are cranky old ugly sick people. Wouldn’t you rather be a lawyer and sue them all?

    • Guy says:

People are usually cranky when asking for medical help, even if young. I know, I used to be a medic in the army >.<

      • Swordwind says:

Well, it makes sense, really. How often have you setup an appointment, driven to your doctor, and told him that life’s perfect and you have no complaints?

By the way, I actually kind of want to do that now, because it sounds hilarious.

        • Guy says:

          I’d smack you for him.

Well, not just the waste of time, but the overbearing sense of entitlement that grows yearly, etc.

        • Swordwind says:

I’m not sure what you’re referencing.

I think I have the sense of humor that would enjoy both giving that ridiculous report of my health, and receiving it. However, I’m not actually considering doing so, as, I think you were noting, it would be wasteful.

If you were being general with the overbearing sense of entitlement statement, you’re absolutely correct. People often have impossibly high expectations for medical professionals. Which is unfair.

        • Guy says:

I was general with the sense of entitlement. Yearly, because I was treating a young crowd, and could see year by year the eroding of respect of the new recruits…

And no, it’s not the expectations alone, well, not the expectations of the medical staff, but more the “You owe me, everything I say is true, you must attend to my every whim, and my smallest boo-boo should come before everyone else, or your own personal time!”

    • Yi says:

@Baka-Raptor: That sounds much better than always having to worry about being sued. I don’t think I don’t have the skill set to be a very successful lawyer though.

@Guy: That must have quite a rewarding experience. ^ ^

  7. mefloraine says:

Hmm, I give you more support! For what it’s worth, I really like your blog as it has been since I found it a few months ago. I can’t vouch for before then, but I think you’re doing a good job.

  8. Swordwind says:

So, you’re suggesting that Yuuna’s following your footsteps? Or did she provide inspiration to you?

Adding Hanabira pictures probably makes your personal thoughts seem more interesting, so well done with that.

I don’t think you can call many of those drinks “tea” in good faith. However, I’m unsure as to what the hell you would call them. Hmm.

Good luck with Med School. I’ll be relying on you to cure cancer and whatnot. Since I realize it’s a complicated issue, I’ll give you a few more weeks.

    • Yi says:

@Swordwind: “So, you’re suggesting that Yuuna’s following your footsteps? Or did she provide inspiration to you?”
I’m suggesting that I should not do naughty things when I really should be working.

Some of those actually are tea based, and the place I go to sells a lot of straight tea as well.

Thanks for the good wishes. ^ ^ I don’t think I’ll be curing cancer anytime, although I would so love to see a cure soon, or at least a more effective treatment. Still, sorry to disappoint. 😦

      • Swordwind says:

I’m not particularly worried about the legitimacy of the term “tea” to describe a drink. I’m also sure that some of the drinks they offer are indeed tea. I also think that calling some of those drinks “tea” is like calling Coke water, because they both have…water.

How very disappointing. You answered what was clearly a joke with a frowny face. I’m getting the impression you think I’m insane, and actually expect someone who is a Potential Medical Student to cure a spectrum of debilitating diseases in a pathetically short time frame.

        • Yi says:

@Swordwind: I’ve been called too “prim and proper,” and I’m sure you know by now that I’m too serious of a person. Don’t feel bad about my stiff responses to humor. It’s not you; it’s me. ^ ^

Anyways, I was playing along with the joke, but humor is not my forte.

The place I go to has a pretty wide tea selection, and I’m pretty confident it’s real tea, but yea, there are definitely places that have “tea”.

  9. Raph says:

Congratulations on reaching this blogging milestone! I haven’t been reading this blog for all that long, but I always enjoy your insights and I’m so happy that you’re a part of the aniblogosphere. It’s been great to meet you. 😀

Boba is really starting to gain popularity here. You used to only be able to get it in Chinatown and such, but now there’s a steadily-growing chain which sells them in shopping malls, etc. There definitely aren’t as many options as you’d be able to get in Taiwan – it’s pretty much just black, green or milk – but it’s still great stuff. And I love boba so I’m very glad that lots of people are getting to enjoy it too.

Best of luck with applying to med school and I hope you continue have fun in Taiwan!

    • Yi says:

@Raph: Actually, I haven’t quite reached three years, and this post doesn’t mark a particularly special milestone. I really appreciate the thought and the nice words though!

Yea. Back in the US, I’d have to drive 15 minutes and shell out boba for 4x the price. I still go frequently though, but imagine my excitement when I got to Taiwan. But at least they have them in the US now too. ^ ^

Also, thanks for the good wishes on my application.

  10. Ryan A says:

Did I read aloe? I think I did! Haven’t had boba in yeeaaars!

Awww, good nice to know you’ve been here so long 🙂 Hope you keep your inner flame a glowing. I wish I could kill-into my backlog, but it seems the seasonal tracking really eats away more anime-watching motivation than it should [ think I’m currently tracking 10 series http://aloedream.animeblogger.net/anime-library >_> ]

    Cheers to you!

    • Yi says:

@Ryan: I hope so too, and I hope not to see an end of this blog anytime soon. After all, it’s accompanied me through the better part of my college years.
10 series! That’s pretty amazing. I’m only actively tracking three and I already think I’m watching a lot.

      To aloe. Cheers.

  11. Hellomotto says:

I am currently applying to medical school. After two weeks of working on a paper, I have only two words saved in my word document, “Personal Statement.” I really need to stop getting distracted sitting at my desk and get on with the application.

I hope that doesn’t happen to me too with college applications. =3 Good luck with med school; I’m sure you’ll do fine. (Especially since you’re a Berkeley alumnus. =D)

They induce orgasms in my mouth. And I know about having orgasms in my mouth. (j/k)

Bubble tea is quite orgasm-inducing. I’m quite jealous that you get the authentic stuff, not the overly-sweet, Americanized stuff we do in the states (as you may know).

Man, I’ve got to get back on K-ON!! after finals. Everyone I’ve been talking to has been praising it to some extent, even if a little.

I haven’t known you for a long time, but still, good luck on all your RL stuff. =D

    • Yi says:

@Hellomotto: Good luck to you too with college applications. I hope you get into the places you like.
Anyways, if I remember correctly, college applications are quite a headache for many. I wish you the best, and have fun!

I drank the Americanized, expensive but worse tasting stuff for a long time, and it’s just not comparable. I already had a long addiction to boba and my trip to Taiwan just made it worse.

K-On!! is pretty good. I’m enjoying it as much as season 1 now, especially with the latest episodes. Yuri, costumes, clothes, and fuwa fuwa. It’s got everything I love.

Anyways, thanks for the good wishes again. I’m really glad to have known you. ^ ^

  12. Mira says:

Yi you’ve inspired me to blog!
Wordpress is pretty neat for a newbie like me although it seems pretty daunting at first. One day I’ll get mine looking as wonderful as yours ^.^

    • Mira says:

      Also how do I get rid of this purple ugly avatar ;_;

    • Yi says:

@Mira: I took a look at your site, and it’s turning out really well. I’m glad to have been a little bit of an influence! Have fun and enjoy blogging.

Just a note, the avatar is based on your email address. I saw that you have an avatar set for your blog, but I’m guessing you used a different email address to set up your blog profile from the email you used here. If you want to get rid of this purple avatar, you can assign it a profile image by going here: http://en.gravatar.com/

For comments on other blogs using the same engine (any blog running wordpress), make sure to use the appropriate email.

  13. softz says:

    Hey Yi,

Firstly, I wish you all the best with your application to the medical school.

Next, talking about bubble tea, it was very popular here too some time back then. The culture of drinking bubble tea was introduced to us by Taiwan. I could still remember when I visited Taipei two years ago. I was amazed by the great variety of bubble tea. Recalling… I ordered something called “炭熱奶茶” and it was ” 鐵觀音” with milk. 🙂

    • Yi says:

@softz: If I remember correctly, 鐵觀音 is a variant of oolong tea. I really like it too, but I don’t think I’ve had 炭熱奶茶. Sounds good though. I know what I’m getting tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the good wishes. I really appreciate the thought!

  14. AS says:

Good luck towards applying to medical school. I have to get ready to apply for jobs myself lol. I myself broke the 3 year mark this past February, it seems much longer than that though. You have lots of stuff in your boba tea, usually I just have tapioca in mine ^^;;. Tomoyo is a big fan of yakult xD.

    • Yi says:

@AS: You’ve been blogging for such a long time! I hope to hit three years soon (around September).
I do go way overboard with the stuff I add. I always end up with only tapioca, or only pudding, or only whatever at the bottom with no more tea, and it’s not so good. Still, I never learn, and I try to add as much as I can into each drink.
      I like yakult too!
Anyways, thanks for the good luck. I need it. ^ ^

  15. Fabrice says:

All the best for the Job Application!
im sure youll get in ^^

btw Im very glad that i stumble upon your site =)
and dont worry about ”writting better”
Its the whole idea of the post that counts if you know what i mean =)

    • Yi says:

@Fabrice: I hope I get in somewhere as well.

I’m glad you visited too. As for writing better, it’s not just an obligation, but also a personal goal, so I like to at least try. I agree that the idea is just as important.

  16. 2DT says:

So glad you like the music! And personally, I like mango green tea with rainbow jelly.

I don’t know the ins and outs of med school personal statements, but if it’s a standard two-pager, I’m always available to do a quick read-over. Just let me know. 🙂

    • Yi says:

@2DT: Thanks for the recommendation. Mango green tea sounds nice and so does rainbow jelly. You have colorful tastes.

Thank you for the offer. I will be sure to take you up on it! I need all the help I can get, and I’m sure you will offer the best. ^ ^

Anyways, again, I really appreciate it!

  17. Shin says:

Take up pediatrics and you will know what it feels to be a God.

  18. lovelyduckie says:

I watched anime constantly for a long time but these past 4 years I’ve switched more-so to manga. I still watch anime every week but my marathons are now no longer than about 10 episodes at a time. The days of watching 25 episodes in a day are long gone 🙂 But I do read at least 2 manga a day. Yesterday I read 6.

    • Yi says:

@lovelyduckie: I never do marathons anymore either. It’s just too hard to find such a stretch of time, and I can no longer pull all nighters.

      You consume so much manga!

  19. kluxorious says:

I dunno why people want to torture themselves and enrolled for med school. I have a friend in France right now studying to be a brain surgery. She basically has no life whatsoever atm. Having said that, good luck Yi. XD

    • Yi says:

      @kluxorious: Don’t make me more nervous than I am already! ^ ^
Anyways, thanks for the good luck. I need every ounce of luck right now.

  20. phro says:

    good luck with med school

*note to self* Yi knows about orgasms in the mouth.

  21. Reltair says:

Good luck with med school! It’ll all pay off in the end. 🙂

Endure and persist through it all!

    • Yi says:

@Reltair: Thanks! I sure hope it pays off in the end since it will be a rather long and tough road.
Good luck to you too, and I hope your post graduation plans go well.

  22. It’s always been strange to think that three years is a long time, but I guess that when you look back, time really does fly.

Good luck with those apps since I’m pretty much going through a similar process, but for totally different fields. Trying to convince schools to take you is tough, especially in this economy where huge numbers are trying to ride it out by sticking to school.

    • Yi says:

@zzeroparticle: Time does fly! College went by really fast, as did the last two something years with this blog.

Anyways, best wishes with your application process. I really hope you get what you’re looking for. It sure is tough times now though but I have confidence in us.

  23. Zemial99 says:

My response to Personal Thought 3:

*sigh* How have time changed. I used to be a big anime fan (and still a hanabira fan), but now it’s almost gotten to the point where I can’t watch it no more. But my anime side is still alive…. a bit (with my friend wanting me to watch Durarara, my hype for the Hanabira anime, and my continuous watching of the old but I wanted it to continue Kamen Rider SD anime/OVA). I just hope that I get back to watching anime again… someday.

    • Yi says:

@Zemial99: Good luck on getting back into anime. I go through periods of anime inactivity too, and often times, a season just does not have anything that interest me. Still, there are decades of older anime to fuel my lows. It might be easier to get back into anime by watching something from the past that you think is interesting.

      • Zemial99 says:

Thanks for the Concern Yi. But unfortunately, Even I wanted to get back into anime, I just get myself too distracted by the following: Touhou, RPing, and Tokusatsu (Mainly Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and Ultraman). It leads me to the point where I will lose my interest of anime forever (Which I don’t want it to happen), and it almost saddens me.

Oh, and I tried watching some old animes that I think it’s interesting: Hokuto no Ken, Kamen Rider SD, and Excel Saga. Those help out a bit, but they still don’t do justice. I’ll find a way to get back into anime though. Don’t worry.

        • Yi says:

@Zemial: Hobbies and interests come and go. It’s pointless to force them. I think as long as you’re having fun, whether it’s because anime is irrelevant. ^ ^
Touhou, RP, and Tokusatsu seem like great replacements!
I’m only familiar with Touhou though.

  24. GreenApp says:

Keep writing this wonderful blog. I really LOVE it ^.^
    On personal thought 2:
Good luck with your application . My mom is a nurse so I know how hard med schools really are. It’s stressful but don’t give up, try your best.
    Response for personal thought 3:
You lucky than I am . Cuz recently, the only thing that makes me interested in is shoujo-ai (may be yuri ) anime or manga.
    On personal thought 4 :
Boba is very famous in my country… we called it “bubble tea” or “milk-shake tea” … but WOA, Taiwan is the birthplace of boba, I never knew this before. Btw, these CoCo boba(s) look so tempting .

    • Yi says:

@GreenApp: Thanks for the very heartwarming words. I’ll try my best in life and on this blog. ^ ^
Truthfully, this season of anime is rather average, but it’s simply good timing and a lot of factors that re-sparked my passion. Anyways, hopefully, there is enough of shoujo-ai material for you to chew on. ^ ^
CoCo boba really is very irresistible, but it’s not necessarily a good thing though. I just weighed myself a few days ago… It’s a hard addiction to kick.

  25. biotoxic says:

Wow, loads of people seem to have applied/been to med school here. Good luck if that’s the path you want to take.

Well done on winning that round in the Aniblog Tourney. It was close – when I voted (Thursday I think) you were behind a few points. Ignore the sour grapes.

    • Yi says:

@biotoxic: Yea, I was surprised too! It’s kind of comforting to see that people are still able to keep a hobby even with the demands of med school. I hope I get to do the same.

Thanks for he support and the vote! I ended up pulling ahead because of some really lovely people like you and with a lot of luck. So thanks!

  26. Ningyo says:

Now, you couldn’t have mentioned orgasms in your mouth thinking we weren’t going to go crazy over it. That’s a really idealized depiction of bubble tea though, what kind of overly-generous bubble tea shop bent on self-destruction would stuff the cups that full? Maybe bubble tea in heaven.

Is the level of fansub watching anime interest rebounding, I wonder? Angel Beats is fun and all, but… Well, this ending season does put a lot more on the table than the last one, at least. It’s just that as I watch Railgun, I feel the melancholy of putting one more good series under my belt and knowing there is now one less out there for me to watch. Well, I do have a history for jumping to conclusions, so I’ll just shut my pie-hole, finish the darn series and make sure I do actually like it that much.

Love your choice of image for thought #2. Very biochemical.

    • Yi says:

@Ningyo: That’s actually surprisingly not an idealized depiction of bubble tea. I kid you not. They really do go all out on the stuff inside. Otherwise, I would not that in love with CoCo. Heaven on earth indeed.

Although the unfortunate side effect are that I’m always left with only the tapioca and not enough tea and an increase in weight.

This season is actually not especially strong for me. I think it is simply perfectly positioned in my life where I have the urge, the time (sort of), and the environment for consuming lots of anime. What I actually watch is not as important. Well, Arakawa and K-On!! help too.

Be sure to let me know what you think of Railgun. I’ll get on Planetarian soon. ^ ^

Hehe. I do love posting lots of HUGE ecchi images, and it is indeed “biochemical.”

Ah! I keep forgetting about the tourney and I’ve failed to vote for any blog I support yet. Well, I like smaller blogs better. They’re often much more personal and much more insightful. You don’t need a giant following to be successful at all 🙂

It’s difficult to find any decent bubble tea where I live. A few years ago I participated in a bazaar. My club decided that we’d make home-made bubble tea but it didn’t sell very well. Apparently people find it odd to have tapioca in a drink. They’re entirely missing out on something wonderful.

Lastly, good luck with med school. If you love the subject, it’ll make the work more bearable. Don’t forget doing what you like really helps with the stress (unless of course, you start to use it to procrastinate. That’s when stress levels skyrocket).

@Yu: Don’t worry about not voting. It’s not that big of a deal anyways. I’m just really glad you’ve decided to visit.

I think boba has only taken off recently in the US, and not liked by everyone. I remember going out with a friend in high school once and he hated having the pearls. It was the weirdest idea for him.

“unless of course, you start to use it to procrastinate. That’s when stress levels skyrocket”
This happens way too often. 😦

  29. Glad to hear that you are going on to med school!!!!! I wish you all the best and I hope that you go far in your new chapter of your life.

P.S. I have to start thinking about grad school as well. Going to be graduating in December and I have to decide between going for my Masters of technology or library and information science. Decisions, decisions!!!!!

    • Yi says:

@Andrew L. Budny: Congratulations on almost finishing school. Big decisions, but I hope you’re still enjoying your summer!

Congradulations on your decision, I know that the medical field is very challenging, but potentially very fulfilling.
The Capioca mixed with coffee is a drink from heaven. I could not survive the past year or two without one every morning x).

Good luck with Med School! 🙂

What do you mean by oolong green tea? Tea is usually classified into either oolong or green category. Are you referring to Pouchong perhaps? Taiwan produces some excellent oolong teas 🙂

    • Yi says:

      @Kitsune: A tea enthusiast!!

I think the classification of black, green, and oolong is based on leave fermentation. The menu said oolong green tea (烏龍綠茶) so I’m assuming it may either be simply a mix of 50 oolong, 50 green, or just Pouchong.

Honestly, I have no idea what it really is. I don’t have the taste sensitivity to recognize the difference. I’m guessing the first though.
